Dr. J. (John) Cheung.

studied medicine at the Free University in Amsterdam and specialized training as an orthopedic surgeon at the University Medical Center Groningen and the Martini Hospital Groningen.
He received his doctorate from the University of Groningen in 2004 with his dissertation on spinal scoliosis. Dr. Cheung began his career as an orthopedic surgeon at the Amsterdam Slotervaart Hospital. There he also took pleasure in training young doctors to become orthopedic surgeons. He also worked as a consultant orthopedic surgeon at the Reade rheumatic center and at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital (AVL) in Amsterdam. He continued the orthopedic profession in the then AVE Orthopedics and Annatommie, today's Xpert Clinics.

As of Jan. 1, 2024, Dr. Cheung started working at Flexclinics in Utrecht. In this clinic he has the opportunity to give more personal care to his patients with movement complaints. They are treated expertly and professionally, the patient with his orthopedic complaint is the focus. Dr. Cheung says he empathizes with his patient's complaint as if he himself were walking with the symptoms. "Treat everyone as you would want to be treated yourself" is his motto. His areas of interest, in addition to general orthopedics, include treatment of complaints of the shoulder, elbow, and knee. In addition, he provides care for patients with rheumatic diseases.
