My name is Elisabeth Dierickx. As my name suggests, I come from Flanders, where I was trained in 1999 in Leuven and Antwerp to become a physician and an anesthesiologist, respectively. In 2014, I came to Rotterdam for additional training as an intensivist and pediatric anesthesiologist, specifically to become a widely employable anesthesiologist. I liked both the way of working and the city so much that I stayed there.

First as an anesthesiologist in the Franciscus Gasthuis & Vlietland, now alternately in a dental practice for children and in Flexclinics since August 2021, both significantly smaller scale than the Franciscus. The nice thing about this move is that I am now much closer to the entire treatment of my patients, from the health screening beforehand to the patient's discharge. This allows me to tailor treatment to individual needs where necessary, with comfort and smooth recovery as the main goal. To this end, I continue to educate myself enthusiastically through NYSORA (New York School of Regional Anesthesia) and the ERASsociety (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery).
